We found Travelodge Farringdon being close to Kings Cross, and is the cheapest out of the central Travelodges. You can also choose Kings Cross Central itself, or Kings Cross Royal Scot - all much of a muchness. If you do choose a Travelodge - we would suggest walking from Kings Cross, left out of the station - follow the road past McDonald's, then bare right down Kings Cross Road (A201, right of Honest Burger) then follow the road. The King's Cross Royal Scot is on the left, closely followed by Farringdon TL around 5 minutes further down.
In a similar vein as we did in November 2023, we attempted to make the most of the day by planning a route ahead of time to make best use of the hours we had. We start at 12 and plan 8-9 pubs. Sometimes the best laid plans don't turn out as you thought. For this weekend, Taylor Swift was playing at Wembley Stadium - make travel a little more difficult - buses, the tube and taxi's/UBER are all busier because of that, along with the rugby double header at Twickenham. Crowds started as I met up with the boys at Kings Cross, with the arrival of the noon train from Edinburgh. Full of fans for both events - quite the contrast and a totally different demographic. Anyhow, the day worked out even considering the extra crowds and we kind of stuck to the schedule - only missing out one planned visit as we had reservations for the Euro games. We also wore our polo shirts for the first time - which prompted a few conversations as we went around the pubs (and got us a few free shots!!) Overall a great day had by all.
The Gallon Crew
Bar Kick is the hub of live sport in Shoreditch with twelve huge screens across the pub showing the Premier League, Formula 1, The Rugby and much more. Stay on top of all the action as we can show up to three simultaneous games on the big screens while you enjoy some of the finest burgers, fried chicken and drinks in town.
This was the first pub we visited on our tour. We met two of the guys here, and they had walked from Old Street Station, opposed to James and I walking for 20 minutes form Liverpool Street. If you have the choice and it's easy - we'd go for Old Street!
It was early when we arrived and we didn't expect it to be busy, and we weren't disappointed. I am a lager man, but Dave (007) reckons the Guinness was decent - unlike the pub they went to night previous where they upset the locals. A couple in here so we were well ahead of the game!
With over 150 years' experience of serving the finest beer to Londoners, the Alexandra in Clapham has built a reputation as one of the premier drinking holes in which to watch your favourite sport. Whatever your sport of choice, be it football, rugby or even hurling, we dedicate two projector screens and five large HD screens to sport. It's the next best thing to being at the game itself. Positioned seconds' walk from Clapham common tube station and with excellent bus routes, the Alexandra is a great meeting place for everyone. So if it's a private function in our Darts Club bar, a few beers while watching your favourite team or just a good night out with the crew, the Alexandra is the perfect spot for you. See you there.
We had quite the journey from Bar Kick over to Clapham. We caught an UBER but it still took over 30 minutes. Some may say that this impacts on the day - but if we don't plan in some breaks along the way we'd be in bed by 8, so the delay wasn't too disappointing. We'd sank 2 beers fairly quickly in the previous establishment so nothing lost really.
This pub probably had the most character of any I've/we've been in during our tours. Regardless if you are going to watch sport or just out for a afternoon/night, this place is amazing. What we didn't get any pictures of is the upstairs, which is huge. It is a function room as mentioned earlier with a darts theme. It's not new looking and it's obviously been there since the pub was built - but what a place. Again, we had a couple of beers in here then we had to decide whether we headed off to Famous Three Kings, or alternatively skip that pub and head to Freemasons Arms. We had a chat and decided the frequent The Famous Three Kings and miss out Freemasons Arms. It was further away towards the north east and The Famous Three Kings was more aligned to sticking to the original route.
The Famous Three Kings pub in Fulham has been voted Sports Pub of the Year by the Great British Pubs awards for the fifth year running!
We are fanatical about what we do and continue to deliver great atmosphere, innovation and screen a wide variety of sports.
Find out what's on our screen this week by visiting our Sport Fixtures page.
The Famous Three Kings pub was brilliant. There's a bar area in the front section as you enter the pub. There are stairs heading down to the left to a seating area which is where we watched the match. We ordered some wings and other finger food as we watched the 1-1 draw. There were a number of Georgia fans in the pub and they were fairly disappointed with the result.
We watched the Georgia v Czechia game here from 2pm
There was a strange device at the bar and it has to be mentioned. One of the guys ordered a Guinness. Barman pops a weird looking can in a 'Heath Robinson' type contraption, and it took like 4-5 minutes to empty and set up the pint. Ordered another as soon as it done! The Famous Three Kings is just off West Kensington Tube so very easy too get to. Would highly recommend it for a few beers and a snack!

Zebrano bar/restaurant is in the heart of Soho and the workplace of many passionate hospitality professionals who believe that Londoners, and visitors to London, represent the greatest people on earth.
At Zebrano, we have created an entertaining venue where fun is coupled with old school hospitality, enabling great people to meet great people. Zebrano serves up fantastic food, drinks and tunes in a venue that rewards the great people of London with the night they deserve.
This was our last pub of the day. No. 8.
Fairly busy, but a cracking place nonetheless. We had had a great day visiting various establishments throughout London and as always the people were very friendly and welcoming. Can't wait until November.
Route takes you from Travelodge Kings Cross Royal Scot, and back - with pubs from Bar Kick, Shoreditch, to Soho Zebrano.
We put together a little guide to help you with your connections. Be it walking (OK early on in the day) to Uber and Tube. Do check these for yourself as we wouldn't want you wasting valuable social time standing around waiting for delayed trains or closed lines!
