The big day may have come and gone, but keep in touch as we’re always up to something new and exciting.
We found Travelodge Kings Cross Royal Scot being close to Kings Cross, and is the cheapest out of the central Travelodges. You can also choose Kings Cross Central itself, or Farringdon - which we have stayed at before - all much of a muchness. If you do choose a Travelodge - we would suggest walking from Kings Cross, left out of the station - follow the road past McDonald's, then bare right down Kings Cross Road (A201, right of Honest Burger) then follow the road. The King's Cross Royal Scot is on the left, closely followed by Farringdon TL around 5 minutes further down.
Nestled along the trendy and delightfully eclectic Upper Street in Islington, you’ll find the King’s Head pub, a groovy establishment that sprang to life in 1970. Grab your drink and dive into the vivacious, jazzy vibe and the dazzling experience that this pub serves up.
Our team can’t wait to roll out the red carpet for you.
Join us soon for a fabulous time.
Kick back and relax by the fire and warm up here on Upper Street. Whether you’re into the sweet iconic Passionfruit Martini, the pick-me-up Espresso martini or here to try something different like our Lemon Negroni, we have a drink that’s perfect for you.
Sip on a winter cocktail that’s full of flavours that belong to the good times that winter brings.
When you think of whisky, what comes to mind? For many, it’s crafted glass of rich and amber-hued spirit, perhaps savoured in a dimly lit whisky bar. Though this sounds enchanting, and the ever-popular Scotch whisky is as iconic as it is delightful, there is an entire realm of whisky to be unveiled.
Come and visit the King Charles I – one of the few ‘proper’ London locals left. The pub was saved in 2015, thanks to the support of passionate locals, and is now community-owned. We were listed as an Asset of Community Value in 2021
With a cosy fire and a rocking juke box, we provide a sanctuary from the frenzy of Kings Cross. As well as spontaneous madness, and a hilarious batshit and anarchic quiz night, we host many DJ and live music events and have supported countless independent musicians over the years, embracing a diversity of music. Check out our pub blackboard for events or join our Instagram and Facebook pages to keep up to date!
The menus of nearby restaurants are kept at the bar; you are welcome to order food to eat in the pub, as well as lovely local cafés that’ll deliver your lunch right to your table whilst you enjoy our lovely selection of real ale, ciders, lagers, and wines – while helping to support our neighbours’ businesses!
Small corner local hidden away in the back streets of Marylebone and one of the few remaining pubs of real character in the area. Inside, the lounge bar is snug with a cosy feel about it whilst upstairs a further bar is available for functions.
This pub was built by Charrington's in 1939, and still retains some of its original features. The bar back is original, as is the wall panelling to dado level, but possibly the most unusual feature is the "piano key" design step and spitoon trough in front of the bar counter.
At the rear of the servery is a staff entrance surmounted by a wooden carving featuring a couple of indeterminant animals (well, I couldn't identify them). There's an upstairs theatre bar, but it wasn't open when I was in during Thursday afternoon.
The Exchange
…is many things - a cute neighbourhood spot for meets, a spritz-o’clock courtyard, but also a pub in every sense of the word - a local for some but open to all, and a business founded not with profit as its primary goal, but rather to make people feel welcome.
The Development Bar & Table
…is the beating heart of the RCE. We don’t get a great team without offering them growth, so development space is most of the building - particularly a downstairs spot right here, and it’s a right laugh.
The Workshop
…is where we host our cocktail masterclasses - we’ve spent a decade distilling them down to what we believe are the most useful things you can learn in a few hours - they’re purpose-driven, but still a lot of fun. See below for more deets.
Called Charlies for some years, it has now reverted to its original 1850 name. Stood at number 154 until rebuilt in 1932 to allow street widening. Situated at the corner of Drury Lane and Great Queen Street, close to the imposing Freemasons Hall, well placed to serve both Covent Garden market area and the theatre-going public who throng to this area in the evening.
Electric lights housed in gaslight-style lanterns illuminate the dark stained wood bar, while the general lighting in the room is subdued. Seating is mostly at free standing tables for four, high level ones in the middle, and lower ones at the sides.
Three upstairs function rooms are available for hire for parties, receptions, etc. The food range includes platters, pies, burgers, fish and chips, and sandwiches. Note that on Sundays alcohol may not be sold until noon.
The King’s Arms, nestled in the quaint Shepherd Market of Mayfair, London, is a traditional pub with a storied past dating back to 1742. Renowned for its classic pub vibes, the establishment is enveloped in history and character.

The Prince of Wales is a traditional independent pub set on leafy Cleaver Square, Kennington and offers that rare chance to enjoy open space in the city. The venue has a beautiful interior with some wonderful eclectic artwork. Food is served Wednesday to Sunday including a superb Sunday Roast making this one of the best pubs in Kennington for a bite to eat.
There is a small seating area outside at the front, or you might just prefer to curl up in the pub’s cosy, comfortable interior, where fabulous food and drink will gladly keep you company.
When the cricket is being played just around the corner at the Oval then the Prince of Wales is one of the best places to start your pre-match day. Chat and mingle with fellow cricket heads before a short walk to the ground.
The Prince of Wales is a convenient place to come together with friends from all over the city. And while this was once a favoured watering hole of the Richardson gang, arch rivals to the Krays, the clientele these days are somewhat friendlier - you can rest assured a warm welcome awaits.
James and the team would like to welcome you to The Royal Oak, a brick built Victorian pub set in the heart of Borough, London.
Nestled on the corner, London high-rises have sprung up around our charming boozer, leaving it an untouched homage to a time when pubs were a place to go for a quiet pint after work, or to put the world to rights with friends.
The first London pub Harvey’s Brewery acquired, we like to stay pretty low key keeping it simple with good beer and good food. We are the secret watering hole of many a Sussex expat, lover of Harvey’s, and cask beer enthusiasts nationally, and internationally!
We were voted one of the UK’s top ten pubs in 2010 (Daily Telegraph), listed number 23 in the Evening Standard's Top 50 pubs in London' December 2023, one of the best pubs in Borough (Londonist), and currently hold a five star rating in Time Out London, and we are also regularly featured in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide. We were also recently awarded SE London CAMRA Pub of the Year 2023!
Expect well-kept Harvey’s beers (cask and keg), good company and great characters, a home from home.
The Kings Arms occupies the ground and lower ground floor of a modern block on Wormwood Street, just off Bishopsgate and not too far from Liverpool Street Station. Having been extensively refurbished it re-opened to the pubic at the end of May 2007.
The refurbishment has really made a big difference, gone are the old tables and chairs along with the sticky carpets and in has come a fresh modern style. The main layout has remained unchanged, it is still possible to walk through the pub and out to the lane behind
Downstairs has also undergone a transformation, there are still the two pool tables but now there is a comfortable modern feel, with plenty of seating and even a couple of leather sofas to lounge in, this is an excellent bolt hole. Food is on offer, ranging from chicken kiev to tuna salad and of course London Pride to wash it down with, service is quick, friendly and pleasant.
A characterful London pub with beautiful views over St James Clerkenwell and its leafy churchyard. This classic London pub sits in the heart of London's vibrant Clerkenwell district and is famous for its warm welcome and fine selection of food and drink.
We take pride in offering a stunning range of top quality drinks from quirky craft beers to an ever changing choice of cask ale, along with a fine wine list and a stunning range of spirits, soft drinks and alcohol free beers
